Can I add my parents to my Portugal golden visa after the main approval?
What proof of dependency does AIMA ask for when parents are added later?

It is possible to add family members to a Golden Visa application at any stage of the process. This can be done after the main applicant has already submitted the application, attended the biometric appointment and received the first Golden Visa residence card, or even when the main applicant is already holding a second or third Golden Visa card.
However, any family member added after the main applicant will remain directly dependent on the validity of the main applicant’s Golden Visa. This means that for as long as the family members need to maintain their Golden Visa residence cards, the main applicant must also maintain a valid Golden Visa residence authorisation and, consequently, keep the qualifying investment in place.
Regarding the inclusion of parents, the documentation required will depend on their age.
For parents under the age of 65, it is necessary to demonstrate dependency. This may include proof of address, the relevant birth certificate establishing the family relationship, and evidence of financial support provided by the main applicant.
For parents over the age of 65, the process is more straightforward, as a birth certificate establishing the family relationship is sufficient.
