When does the ten-year clock for Portuguese citizenship start for golden visa holders?
Is it the application date, the approval date or the date the first card was issued?

The qualifying period for both permanent residence and Portuguese citizenship starts from the date of issuance of the first residence card.
To apply for permanent residence, you need to complete five years of legal residence in Portugal, counted from the issuance date of your first residence card.
For Portuguese citizenship, the required period is ten years of legal residence, also counted from the issuance date of the first residence card.
