Is it worth filing a court action (intimação) against AIMA for a stalled golden visa file?
My file has had no movement for well over a year. What does the court route cost, how long does it take, and does it risk upsetting the case?

The option of filing a lawsuit will depend on the specific circumstances of each investor and family. Delays in a Golden Visa process can result from several different factors, including circumstances related to the applicant.
For applicants who wish to try to accelerate their Golden Visa process, a lawsuit may be an option. At the moment, we are generally seeing a period of approximately three to six months between filing the lawsuit and receiving the court’s decision.
However, due to the Immigration Office’s current workload and high demand for services, there are situations where the authorities are unable to comply with a court decision within a reasonable timeframe. As a result, even a favourable court decision may not necessarily move the application forward as quickly as expected.
Considering that we are currently seeing Golden Visa applications being approved within approximately 10 to 15 months, filing a lawsuit may not be as helpful or relevant as it was in the past. The decision should therefore be assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the circumstances and timeline of each individual application.
