1. At the moment, Portuguese citizenship applications are experiencing a significant backlog at the Portuguese Civil Registry Offices.

   Based on the current processing times we are seeing, applicants should expect approximately two to three years from the date of submission until the citizenship application is reviewed and ultimately approved.
