Do golden visa holders have to pass the A2 Portuguese language test for citizenship?

-
The A2 Portuguese language requirement applies to Golden Visa holders as well as holders of other Portuguese residence authorisations when applying for permanent residence or Portuguese citizenship.
For citizenship and PR applications, applicants over the age of 16 are required to demonstrate the necessary level of Portuguese language proficiency by presenting the appropriate certificate.
It is important to note, however, that citizens of Portuguese-speaking countries are not required to present a Portuguese language certificate.
